TIMESINDONESIA, DENPASAR – The Head of the Agricultural Quarantine Agency (Barantan) of the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Ali Jamil said that dried Cattapan leaves are very good for cultivation because the selling price is quite expensive. Currently, Indonesia has exported dried Ketapang leaves to Japan. One kilo is around Rp. 1 million.
“Ketapang leaves, which grow on riverbanks or in valley areas, are in fact expensive. Indonesia has exported to Japan. One kilogram can cost the equivalent of Rp. 1 million,” he explained, after releasing the export of agricultural commodities at the Balai Offices. Denpasar Class 1 Agricultural Quarantine, Monday (29/4/2019).
According to Jamil, if there are vacant lands, his party appeals to plant Cattapan leaves which are quite expensive. Because one kilo of dry Ketapang leaves can reach around Rp. 1 million.
Jamil also explained, Ketapang leaves are now being requested by the Japanese state and have been exported. The benefits of Ketapang leaves are for coloring betta fish, medicine, and cosmetics.
“I heard that it is for medicine and cosmetics. What we know is that only Japan (is interested). In fact, we have just exported to which other countries need Ketapang leaves,” he said.
Ketapang leaves, he said, the information is to give the betta fish color. “There are various colors. There are blue, red, and others,” added Jamil.
